After a strong season where they won back-to-back division titles for the first time ever, the Detroit Lions seem to be in the mood to upgrade or move on from some stars.

One of those suspected trading block names is wide receiver Jameson Williams, who hasn't had the easiest of times in Detroit.

So when reports from Sports Illustrated's Albert Breer began percolating that Williams could be on the move, the former University of Alabama star posted some cryptic messages on his social media.

Williams made two posts on his Instagram story in recent days - both of black screens with only text on them.

'Loyalty b4 any n everything,' read the first post. The second read, 'Stay sucka free.'

Not only that, but it appears that Williams doesn't follow the Lions anymore on the social media platform. It's unclear if he ever did to begin with.

Last season, Williams drew scrutiny for an overtly sexual TD celebration in the playoffs

Williams put up some career-best numbers, but he is entering the final year of his rookie deal

Williams' time in Detroit has seen some controversies since it began. After missing most of his rookie season with a torn ACL, he missed the start of his second season after being caught up in a betting scandal.

He was banned for six games in total due to betting on a college football game at his hotel room during a team road trip, which violates league rules. The NFL lifted his suspension after only four games.

Then, last season, Williams drew negative attention for an overtly sexual touchdown celebration where he thrusted his pelvis at the turf after a TD catch in a playoff game against the Washington Commanders.

Not only did the Lions go on to lose that game, but Williams was eventually fined over $25,000 by the league for the display.

Earlier in the 2024 season, Williams was suspended two games for violating the NFL's performance enhancing substances policy.

Williams is entering the last year of his rookie contract and it does appear that the Lions are interested in extending him.

Detroit GM Brad Holmes noted that Williams was 'a tremendous player for us last year' and believes the pass catcher has 'more in him'.

Last season, Williams hit career-high marks in receptions (58), yards (1,001) and touchdowns (seven).
