Pastor Sara attended Yale Divinity and Gettysburg Lutheran Seminary where she received her Master of Divinity in 2006.  She served Christ the King Lutheran Church in Wilbraham, MA as their pastor for over four years before she began serving congregations as an interim pastor. She is most passionate about ministry that empowers people to serve, that seeks to share the gospel in transforming ways, and engaged the spirit. She spent many summers at Camp Calumet Lutheran as camper, staff, and volunteer. She met her husband, Gary, a town planner at Calumet and currently served as the Chairperson for their board of directors. Pastor Sara and Gary have a young son, Lucas. She spends as much time with him as she can, serving as a part-time interim so that she is able to spend more time at home with him.  In her role as intentional interim, Pastor Sara  leads Bethany in worship, pastoral care, and helps the congregation through transition.  She will help the congregation listen for God’s call so that they can set a clear direction for the future while they also identify important aspects of their ministry and the pastoral leadership that will provide the best partnership in living out our mission.  She has engaged a transition team, “Team Compass” that will help the congregation navigate this time of transition.  Pastor Sara invites members, neighbors, friends, stranger, and those interested in learning more about Bethany and about what it means to “be saved by Grace” to join us for worship.
