Music ministry: The music program at Bethany has been especially blest with many talented and willing participants. Many opportunities to enjoy this gift are offered. Whether you want to participate, or just sit and listen, there are offerings to include everyone, with five choirs and the concert series.
Cherub choir: ages 3 through first grade
Junior choir: grades 2-6
Senior choir: adults and high school
Folk choir: for those who enjoy folk music
The concert series: is held on the fourth Sunday of every month at four in the afternoon, from October to May. It includes varied programs by various local and guest artists.
Prayer chain: The prayer chain is made up of a group of members of Bethany who support the members and friends of Bethany who have a special need. Whether it is illness or some other problem, prayers can be requested either by the one in need or by someone else in their name.
Prayer shawl ministry: The prayer shawl ministry has become an important part of Bethany, both within the church and in the community. The shawls are made, with prayer, by the members of the church, and presented to those who are in need of support as a reminder that God and his people are with them in their hour of need.
Baptismal blanket: These are hand-made blankets given to our ‘newest’ members to commemorate their baptism.
Women’s Circle: The Circle of Joy meets monthly for fellowship and to work on various church related projects and causes.
Parish Nurse Program: The program offers regular blood pressure screening as well as occasional CPR or First Aid Training classes.
Adult Bible Study: One group meets on Sunday morning between the two services and the other meets on Tuesday mornings at 6:45 AM in the lounge.
Youth Groups: We have two very active youth groups, one for Middle School students and one for High School students. Along with monthly activities, these groups participate in local as well as nationwide Church Youth events.
“Train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it.” – Proverbs 22:6
Lutherans believe that the Christian Education of children is a key to faith development and one of our greatest responsibilities as parents, adults and as a congregation. That’s why at Bethany , our Sunday Church School is a vibrant and exciting part of our ministry. With more than 100 students and some 20 volunteer teachers, aids and helpers each week, we are bringing God’s word to His children in creative and fun ways.
We would like to invite your child(ren) to Sunday Church School at Bethany . Children, from age 3 through 7th grade, typically have a lesson based on a Bible story, followed by an activity or craft project and music. If you don’t have a church home, we hope you will consider ours. Our newly renovated Sunday Church School wing and newly constructed facilities were designed with just this purpose in mind. We think you’ll be as excited as your children to join in the learning and fun each week at Bethany .
Our Sunday School begins on Rally Sunday each year – normally the third Sunday of September. This year, on September 16th and each week thereafter, all children will gather in the sanctuary at 9:15 am for a short opening worship and class assignments. The SCS session ends at 10:15 am each Sunday – just in time to join us for Worship at 10:30 am.
